Reciprocating Compressor
Mechanical Engineering Technology DEC Capstone Project
In team of 3 students, we designed and manufactured from the ground up a piston compressor pump capable of building a pressure of about 110 psi in a 20 gallon tank. That has been one of the most interesting and challenging project I had to do as it was meant to wrap up all the acquired knowledge in the DEC.
Compressor Performance
-
Working pressure: 0 to 110 psi
-
Real volumetric flow rate: 1.06 L/s
-
Theoretical volumetric flow rate of 0.93 L/s
-
The pump fills a 20 gallons tank US (15.8 L) at 50 psi (free air) in about 45 seconds
